Welcome to our Local Tradition Workshops, where you'll learn hands-on skills rooted in Finnish heritage. Each workshop day includes guided activities, a tour of the historic Saariniemi Estate, a delicious lunch or dinner with dessert and coffee or tea, and a relaxing lakeside sauna session.

Needle felting
Create a beautiful and meaningful keepsake using wool from our very own sheep. You'll learn the basics of needle felting, and get to feel the whole process — from wool washing and carding to shaping your creation.
Traditional Baking: Kampanisu
Roll up your sleeves and bake kampanisus, a classic Finnish pastry, using Grandma Betty's secret recipe. After baking, sit down and enjoy the results with a warm cup of coffee or tea.
Living History
Step into the past and discover life on the Saariniemi Estate in centuries past. Using tree rings and old household items, we'll explore Finnish rural history and the stories that shaped this place.
