We love how we live - and we live how we love.
Traditions are cherished here at Saariniemi Estate. Our animals are native Finnish breeds: Finnsheep, grey Kainuu sheep, two cats, and free-roaming country chickens with a proud rooster.
Our sheep play an important role — they are both "therapy sheep" and a part of a national gene bank. During your stay, you're welcome to spend time with them — we'll gladly guide you.
The breathtaking nature surrounding us is priceless. Our private peninsula is a sanctuary of biodiversity, home to up to 33 bird species, including the critically endangered willow tit. Frogs thrive here, wild berries and mushrooms grow in abundance, and reindeer wander freely across the land.
We are ECEAT Certified.
We are proud to be certified by ECEAT – the European Centre for Ecological and Agricultural Tourism. This recognition honors our commitment to sustainable farming, animal welfare, cultural heritage, and responsible tourism.
Being ECEAT-certified means our estate meets high environmental, social, and ethical standards. We care for the land, respect our animals, and welcome guests with authenticity and warmth — always with nature in mind.
Come and experience genuine rural life, in harmony with the environment.

Nature has time for you.
Our services are tailored for small private groups. All activities take place on our private peninsula, surrounded by pristine nature and the beautiful Lake Vanttausjärvi.
Our nature-based experiences are rooted in Nature Empowerment, a method that supports well-being and quality of life through connection with nature. We are licensed to provide these services and are proud members of the Green Care Finland Association.
