Historical Context

Founded in 1862 as a forest ranger's estate in Finnish Lapland, Saariniemi Estate has remained a privately operated rural homestead for more than 160 years. The surrounding landscape has witnessed many phases of Finnish history, including the wartime years in Lapland during the 1940s. Today the estate combines this historical setting with structured hosting programs for professional, governmental and international groups.
