Walk along the shoreline. Sit by the lake in silence. Warm yourself in a traditional lakeside sauna. In winter, the Northern Lights may rise above the water, and net fishing under the ice continues as it has for generations. In summer, the Midnight Sun keeps the horizon light through the night.

Founded in 1862 as a forest ranger's estate, Saariniemi has remained in the same family ever since. Set on a private peninsula on the shores of Lake Vanttausjärvi, it is a place where forest, water and northern light have shaped everyday life for generations.

For nearly two decades the buildings stood empty. When the estate came into our ownership, time had left its mark. The restoration took years — careful and patient work guided by a simple intention: to let the estate continue its story with respect for what it has always been.

Today, the estate accommodates only a small number of guests each season, allowing its quiet atmosphere to remain.
