Heritage Workshops
Learn by doing – with your hands, heart and senses
This experience offers a hands-on introduction to Finnish heritage skills in the peaceful surroundings of Saariniemi Estate in Finnish Lapland.
Welcome to the heritage workshops at Saariniemi Estate. During the day you will learn traditional Finnish skills in practice, in a peaceful and authentic environment.
A workshop day is not only about making things – it is about sharing time together, stories, flavours and a moment away from everyday rush.
The experience includes
– A guided workshop
– A tour of the historic estate
– Lunch or dinner with dessert and coffee
– A relaxing sauna moment by the lake
Duration: 3–4 hours
Price: 150 € / person
Minimum group size: 4 persons

Needle Felting – From Wool to Craft
We work with wool from the estate's own sheep, washed and carded using traditional methods. You will learn the basics of needle felting and create your own small piece by hand.
Working with wool is calming and allows space for creativity.
Your finished craft will go home with you as a memory of the day.

Kampanisu – A Traditional Baking Moment
We bake kampanisu, a traditional Finnish pastry, using the recipe of Grandma Betty.
Preparing the dough, the warmth of the oven and the aroma of fresh pastries bring you instantly into the atmosphere of a traditional Finnish farmhouse kitchen.

The Story of the Estate as Part of the Experience
The heritage workshops take place at the historic Saariniemi Estate. Old objects, tree rings and stories passed down through generations create a unique environment for learning.
Here traditions are not a performance – they are part of everyday life.
